I just installed a avital 4113 in a 2011 crown vic.   I have hooked up just the basics. When I hit the remote button once.. The dash lights turn on the the starter try's to turn and shuts off.   I tried increasing the starter time but it still dies. This is a police model vic so there is not chip key..... , any ideas?

Make sure you do not have a ignition wire and accessory wires mixed up...and make sure all the ignition wires are powered

It sounds like you do have a transponder key to me. Try it with the key in the ign. if the car stays running more than likely that's your problem.

He is correct that most Police models dont have chips in the key. But You should still try it with the key in the ignition and see what happens. Double check everything with a DMM. Thats the only way to know. Did you learn tach ? Or are you using virtual tach?
