dball2pro / 5x10 no ground when armed?

No Ground When Armed wire for a 5X10 (DBALL2Pro)???? I want to add some sensors and leds. I do see an option in the firmware loader to reassign an output to "ground when arm" but it doesn't work. Any thoughts? KingVinnie

Be careful with LEDs. Bright LEDs will drain the battery faster. The GWA wire on the DBALL is usually an input from the alarm system. Hook up the GWA from the brain, not the DBALL. The GWA wire usually outputs 500mA and shouldn't be used as a source of power. It's a trigger wire, not a (-) power wire. Using a relay, attach the (-) side of the relay coil to the GWA, and the (+) side to +12V Constant. BE SURE to put a diode across your relay coil or the brain is toast!No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

are you using the latest version of xpressvip 4.5? f you don't have the latest version an an xkloader3 you wont be able to do it.Ted

does it need to be a xbloader3? im using a xbloader2 and vip 4.5 i does give me an option during flashing to change outputs. I tried to change the "ground while running" wire to "ground when armed" but doent seem to do anything, checked with a DMMKingVinnie

Did you ever get it figured out i just got an 5x10 installed and theres no blinking LED installed wanted to install one with the ground when armed but can't find one on the unit.

i did get it working, re-flashed on a different computer and it worked fine. There is no GWA wire by default, but you can program one in the firmware. I used mine for a scanning led on the dash and a tilt sensor. Mine also came with a valet button LED Flasher comboKingVinnie

Your 5x10 came with a Led/valet switch combo I asked my installer and he said it doesn't come with one. Where does the Led/valet switch combo plug into on the brain.

Thanks When I looked on the site I saw that it came with a Led/valet and holder pn8620 But the installer said I would have to hook up the RF kit to get the Led. Im going to have to look into getting a replacement led/valet So if I get one can I just plug it into the port or do I need to get it flashed to work
