Installing a stand alone remote start in my daughters 2016 Jeep JK. The shroud around the column will not come off. There is a lip the goes under the steering wheel. I just did a 2015 two weeks ago for a customer and the came right off. Is there a way to get the cover off without removing the steering wheel?? Thanks!!!

You’ve probably already tried this but... Turn the wheel all the way left then all the way right and look for screws behind the steering wheel (like some toyotas)?

If you want to take the shroud off, the wheel needs to come off on the 2016. It's not difficult. Or you can just make your connections in the harness coming down the steering column.

Yep. The shroud changed from the 15's to 16's for no apparent reason. My wife and I own both a '15 and a '16 Wrangler. I had to pull the air bag and steering wheel to install the T-harness on her Jeep(the '16).

Did the wheel pop right off or were you able to pry the shroud off through the steering wheel???

I had to use a puller.I don't think you could remove it without one. It was on there pretty good.
