I'm looking to installing a Viper 3106v for a 2013 Prius 2 and would like a very simple installation. I'm looking to installing the alarm for the following:
1. Door trigger
2. Rear door/hatch trigger
3. Motion sensor.
4. Possibly the following later: Hood pin trigger and tilt sensor.
With that said, I don't want to use the factory starter kill for simplicity sake.
My questions are the following:
In order to set up this alarm, do I need any relays to hook up # 1-4?
To hook up the door trigger is it violet (viper) to purple (car wiring harness)?
To hook up the rear door/hatch, do I hook up the violet (Viper) to rear door/hatch dome light?
With this setup, I should be able to use both the key fob and Vipers remote, correct?

I only see a Prius, a Prius C and Prius V. Which of those?   Second question, Regular Key or Smart key?

Great thanks. So in order to wire up the 5 doors, is the best and quickest way to hook up the alarm door trigger to the dome light? No need to hook up to each of the 5 doors correct?

The best way would be to diode isolate the 4 door triggers. You may use 1N4001 diodes for this. The cathode/colored/striped side of each diode will be connected to the vehicle's wiring. The alarm should have a separate door trigger input for the trunk that you can use.

Great thanks. I'm assuming I should use the same diodes for the hood pin as well? Also I have additional questions:
This Prius has a smart key and push to start...will I be using both the viper remote and smart key together for example when starting the car? Will the alarm go off when I put my hand in the door handle to unlock the door? Or do I un-arm with viper remote 1st? Is there a way to use just the viper remote alarm? Or do I need a more capable alarm?

I'd personally look at a different model of alarm. I'd recommend stepping up to a remote start + security system that accepts a FLCART/Blade module by ADS. Compustar makes several nice systems.
The blade module is going to provide all of the following via data and make the install so much easier for you

This is just my humble opinion. Adding that 3106 to a push start prius is absolutely pointless. Toyota's system is designed so beautifully and makes life a breeze, why would you add such a basic alarm that will just add hassle to your life. you will now have to manually press your viper remote to disarm the alarm and maintain batteries in both fobs, for no added security. Its really pointless. Just my 2 cents.
