Hello, I installed a Prestige APS785 in a 2003 Escape. When I arm the system it also arms the stock alarm. When I disarm it, it doesn't disarm the stock alarm and the horn goes off everytime I open the door. If I disarm it then hit the unlock button on the factory remote and open the door it is fine. The wires I used from the factory was the dark blue/green wire in the harness going down next the the fuse box that was suggested in earlier posts. The lock and unlock wires in the same harness he suggested worked fine. I used the disarm wire from the Prestige that is pulsed ground output before start, 1 second at 300mA. Is this the correct factory wire or is it not enough from the Prestige? The other wires I have from the Prestige are pulsed ground output after start, aftershutdown, and during start (crank).
Also the remote start will not work unless the key is near or in the ignition. I tried both locations and it worked. With real good range too! Do I need a transponder module for this vehicle? Is this the PATS?
Thank you for your help

The wire I have for the OEM disarm is blue/lt green @ the DKP or 26 pin plug @ GEM. You used the correct wire from the Prestige, but did you put it to the right disarm wire on the Escape ?

Thank you. I also had trouble finding the door trigger wire. Where can I find this?

Should I use the Audiovox bypass unit instead of a universal one? I am looking at the ASTBM. It says it is for the Ford PATS. Would this be the correct unit to us?. Thank you Velocity Motors for the information. Is the "cluster" that you refer to in the driver kick panel near the fuse box? I also don't know where the GEM is located.
thank you all for your help

i believe you will need a bypass for a "pats 3".  and be sure to read the info completely before you hook it up, or it gets tradgic.

I just checked the Ford website and it says SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System and a Perimeter Alarm ford escape
I was also reading about keys losing their programming or the system freezing when it sees 2 different keys in the ignition. What is your suggestion for brands?
Thanks for your input

The cluster is the dash and the GEM on this vehicle is located behind the center console on the floor. Pull off the black panel to the right of the gas pedal, there will be carpet covering it. The plugs face the driver side of the vehicle.

The EPATS the Escape has you will need 2 working keys to program and you will need PKU-F1 module to properly bypass the EPATS key.
