I posted here about a month ago with Passlock I problems, and I finally got a chance to fix it. It works great now, especially when it hit -33 C the other night. Thanks for all your help.

But now I have another problem. The r/s was working flawlessly, but now, when it sits for an hour or more, when it remote starts, it will only run for about a minute, shut down, and go through the start cycle again and again until it quits. I checked the start failure codes, and all it gives me is "hardware reset" codes.

It is an AS-1785 installed in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire, manual trans.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There is no bypass on a 96 sunfire right? I believe not. I am having this problem in an automatic 96 Saturn. The broad keeps coming back and telling me the boss it's out fault when I am postive that the unit is just not staying stable. Sometimes it will run for a half-hour, sometimes five minutes, sometimes for an hour or so. Ever connection is secure and stable. There is no high resistance in the ground. Everything should be working but it's just not. I would send the unit back for service.

How many flashes did you get ? The Sunfire has Passlock I on it wrencher_25.  The Saturn does not have any immobilizer on it.

this is indicative of a dead unit.  autostart has been having significant quality control issues lately, so this doesn't surprise me in the least.  I'd bet ya $10 that if you replace the unit with another, it'll work tickety boo.  and yes, the 1996 sunfire would have Passlock I...

Hey guys.  Yes, it does have PassLock I, that was what I was having problems with at first. Actually, I had the Starter wire from the bypass module on the OEM starter wire, not on the r/s starter wire which I had moved to the clutch to by pass that. My fault.

Velocity Motors, when I check the start failure codes, it goes 3,4,3,3. The 3 flashes being "hardware reset" and the 4 being brake, when I reset back into ready mode, procedure for manual trans. All the hardware resets, I think, are when I open a door, hood, e-brake, brake, all the safety stuff for a manual trans.

I'm almost positive I have all the wiring where its supposed to be, as it was working properly for a long time, but I thought I had it before too. I haven't done a r/s for a couple of years, so any help I can get is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
