Please help. I decided to move my amp to a different spot and unhooked everything. I moved it and plugged everything back in with some new speaker cable(the other ones didnt match). I turn the car on, and my amp turns on, but:" src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif"> , it isn't near as loud. I check all wiring, i even unhooked the subs to check it out, i don't own power tools, so you can imagine how long that took. i pop the subs out and everythings fine.
2 hours pass by and i cannot find what the hell is going on. Im very upset. I change the speaker cable back, and move the amp back to its original position.
This has never happened before, but now i can hear a pop in my subs when i turn the car off and on, and when i adjust the equalizer it makes noise. My subs aren't near as loud as they were before. WHATS HAPPENING??? thanks guys.

Well the only thing i can think of is the ground wire positioning if thats been moved.. It it has then the new area might not be a good spot. Another thing is that what gauge is the old wiring compaired to the new ones.. Smaller or bigger?? If they are smaller then less power is going through them.. I've been out of it for a while and just getting back in so i could be way off..

the poping and noise you hear is probably a bad ground.

I agree with both of the previous posts, Did you move your ground? or change the wire size?...

what happend after you switched everything back to its orignal postion?

If we learn from each success and
each failure, then we can improve ourselves

Bad ground or broken ground wire.

Did you move the sub or just the amp?  I agree that your power and noise problems are probably related to the amp ground.  But if the sound was different when it did work, then you probably moved the sub iteslf and what you are hearing is because of speaker position changes.

i agree.  a bad ground is your most likely culprit for the pop.  but the speaker positioning can play a big part of your sound.  with all the cars ive had yet the bass is much louder when facing them towards the rear.  if i face them forwards or even up they just dont sound near as good.

wow, thanks ya'll. Okay, I didn't move my ground point to a different location. Thats why this is wierd, cause nothing is loud anymore. Im using a JBL bp600.1, and my JL audio w3 d4's subs are wired in parrellel. Just incase you thought it was my wiring. I switched my speaker cables to a bigger gauge. I think its my ground but, IT WAS WORKING ONE DAY AGO. lol. I'll check things out.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I sanded down my original groundpoint. Nothing their. I made another ground point, still not working. My subs aren't loud anymore. OMG WHAT WILL I DO?!?!? lol. My subs aren't loud, they make wierd noises everytime i adjust something.
Everytime I put the power wire back in the amp, its supposed to spark right?
Somebody give me a worse case senario. What could have happened here? Fried amp, fried subs?
