would it be crazy if someone really suped their engine up and used the extra power to drive a linkage system do power about 10 alternators and use all of that power for a crazy ass system in their truck?

It all depends on what you want to call "crazy".  Some people might go out and try it, while others would just think it's a waste of time.  Personally, I would go for it, but that's just me.

I have seen it done on a Demo vehicle for BOSS audio. They had an armoured truck that they put something stupid like 20 15s in, and if they couldnt plug the truck in they had a huge circular plate that bolted to the front of the vehicle and then linked to the drive train. They had 13 High Output alternators on this thing and it was really crazy. 0-60 in never, but it was still cool.
