Hey everyone...this is the scenerio,  3 12" w3v2 or 2 12"w6v2, I have always been a fan of memphis, but have recently been taking an intrest in JL stuff.  I am looking for SQ but want to be able to put some serious sound out if i feel like.  Everything is powered by the Memphis Belle amp, the big one not the babye one.  1100 watts to the sub ch @1ohm.  Thanks for any input.

The W6v2 subs in a proper enclosure would probobly be louder.

i would go with the w6v2 just because with three subs the impedence is always weird like 1.333 or 2.666, this typically means your amp may not be pushing the subs at the optimal wattage

The w6v2's will hit in a well contructed sealed enclosure, they will sound really good. If i'm not mistaken that amp put's out 1100 watts to the sub channel @ 1ohm, right? if so be really carefull with your gains and I also recommend sticking with a sealed enclosure as you will already be overpowering them a bit. I wouldn't worry about blowing em though as JL underrates their subs, if you go to their website they have a power handling chart for all of their subs.

personally i would say def the W6v2 or why not try a W7??? seems like it would be in the same price range.... but the w6 is incredibly nice and loud...i heard the 8s and they where about as loud as my CVR 12s

im questioning the same as netboy pretty much, im new here..basically, im not sure about what im about to say so dont diss me, just correct me if i am wrong..im trying to decide between..3 12W3v2s..2 12W6v2s..or 12W7, I have the room for all three since i'll be putting them in a grand cherokee when and if i get them, just not sure which ones would sound the best and hit the hardest..I know that one of the deciding factors in a system is the enclosure, so if i got the w7 i would either get a JL h.o box , or a subzone sealed w7 box....they sound amazing in this enclosure when i heard it..also I would most likely be using subzone boxes with the other configurations unless i built my own that was better. thanks..

i think most everyone would agree with me go with the W7 with the right box and amp though

The W7 is the way to go if you can afford it, either box will work well for it although you might consider building it yourself to save some money. A JL 1000/1 will push this sub very nicely if you can afford it and matches up extremely well with this sub due to the ohm impedance created by the two 3 ohm vc's.

By impedance I mean that if you wire the voice coils in parralel (default on the sub) it will knock the sub down to 1.5 ohms, the JL 1000/1 will put out full power at 1.5 ohms.

the 1000/1 puts out full power at any impedance between 1.5-4 ohms due to the RIPS technology it was built upon. if you dont believe me go to jlaudio's website to verify it.
