Hey all, and thanks in advance for any answers to my questions.  I have seen this stuff used, but have never been able to locate it.  I have heard it called "liquid plastic" or "rigid filler."  This site shows what it looks like:

http://www.hzemall.com/1989_dodge_console_mold.htm

Also, after using this filler, I have seen people use a certain texture to create a "pebble effect", or to match the look of the factory texture.  Is this a paint/texture combo, or do you texture and then paint?

Could anyone please tell me where to find these materials?

Anyone????, MECP Certified installers (quote "professionals" unquote)????, Interior Experts that have quoted doing projects like this on posts in this forum????  What brand did you use and where did you purchase the products?????????

I have read other threads and SEM has been mentioned a lot.  Is that a company???

Thanks for the help.

You can find the plastic filler/rigid plastic repair stuff here: http://www.autotoolmart.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?p_catid=211&sid=fg1x10mV0GD8nL-25103487951.2e

I'm not sure how to make the texture and haven't used this stuff myself, but you do want to buy the applicator gun when you buy the plastic filler.

yes, i asked Tim at the Hzmall how he did this and it is a texture spray made by SEM. you can create different textures by building up the layers or sanding them down.

The product I was referring to is made by Dominion Sureseal and it is called Ridgid Filler. I have not used the plastic filler mentioned above but that stuff uses a special gun, the stuff I use is just a 2 part compound.

Hope that helps

Try Bodywork/Bodyshop supply stores, any auto paint supply store carries the spray. Also try this place

I live in Southern California and this place has lots of stuff like Duraglass/Maraglass and Rage Gold bodyfiller by Evercoat.  They probably sell fiberglass supplies and the liquid plastic too.
