also, if you look and professional competitors, people who have been doing it a long time, look at the sound quality portion, 75% of them use JL

JL Audio is all about sound quality. With a good amount of SPL to go with it. For years, the W6 line was the reference sub line that almost all other subs were compared to, because it was just that good. Now a days JL Audio may not be the greatest or best, but they are still close enough to the upper echelon of audio manufacturers that you really can't go wrong with their gear.

I was looking the other day for links to awards JL Audio has won over the years. I remember seeing in all the stereo mags how JL Audio had won so many awards at all the big competitions. But I wasn't able to find anything online in the limited amount of time that I spent looking. I'm sure someone could find something to sate your curiousity though JL in competion? - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.

Ok, I didnt think I would have to clearify this but apperently I was wrong. I dont think you are gonna hit 160's with 4 W0's LEGALY. I dont care what people can do when they cheat. Im sure I can crack 190 if I dont wanna do it legit. I am only interested in real numbers not bs.

if you could break 190 legally, illegaly, however the fu@k you wanted to do it i will give you $1 million dollars.  do you know what the world record in outlaw SPL is in 1001-up(that's the highest class)?  do you know who Mike Jones is?  do you know what outlaw SPL is?  outlaw SPL is legal on the dash, the world record is held by Mike Jones, he happens to be a friend of mine, and he is doing 175's. when the space shuttle takes off if you stood underneath it it would only be 172 db's. now if you think you can even approach what he is doing you are far more talented than most of the competitors that grace the professional car audio circuit today.  the second loudest vehicle in the world is more that 1.5 db's lower, when you are getting that high 1.5 db's is a mountian to cross.  the world record for illegal db is just slightly higher than mike jones' legal, i think it's like 177 or something not to much higher for illegal
what!?!?! you want some??

Sorry Ravendarat, my friend with the 4 WO's actually hit 152, so sorry for the over-exageration, just making a point that JL's are not a bad sub to use, and maybe some of us have hearing left so we can't sit in vehicles with drowning bass that could blow your ear drums out.  Geez, didn't know freedom of speach was a crime.

What I meant was legit not legal. I wasnt talking about classifications or classes. You can play around with meters and use mics that arent calibrated properly If the mic isnt calibrated properly tou could see 190 to 200 pretty easy. There was a small town competion around here and they did just that. The mic wasnt calibrated properly to the system and I think the high car was like 188 or something stupid like that. I know that witha proper set up you cant hit that high, that was the point I was trying to get at. No need to appologize either because overexageration is something I have to deal with all the time. The only reason why I was sure it wasnt right was because I have seen 160 db cars and I knew he couldnt do it with 4 wo's.
