i went to my local shop and they said they would charge approximately $120 for uninstall and then roughly $240 for re-install...(seems obvious to me they charge 60 an hour and expect two hours for uninstall and four hours to reinstall) so i'm disappointed they are not cutting me any slack even though my install was done less than a month ago. i guess i have no choice but to try and do it myself since i refuse to pay them for both. any suggestions?

That sucks if it is the same shop who sold yu the gear in the first place. But, everyone's gotta make a living I guess. See if you can bargain them down a bit to somethng like a $250 flat fee for remove and install..
