I recently had some body work done to my car......that's beside the point.....but during that time the car died and they had to charge it on me twice.....well since then my remote will not commmunicate with the remote start\keyless entry module.  I thought possibly a fuse was blow but I did a tach learn and that worked no problem.  I think possible somehow the remote and brain got screwed up and need to be relearned, and I do not have my owners manuel, so if anyone can post instructions on relearning my remote to my brain, that would be great.  THanks

Jeff

You may want to see if the antenna is still plugged up to the alarm. You can also go to www.directed.com and get the installation manual for that alarm.

I checked my antenna and that wasn't it.  I already downloaded the manuel and that didn't say anything about programming remotes....unless I am blind, which is possible

I had a friend that had a 790 do the EXACT same thing. I tested all the wiring and even the remote start. All was fine. I even tried reprogramming the remote, no luck. I concluded it was a bad remote. We programmed a 791 remote, and it worked fine. The shop where he bought the 791 remote says that happens ALL the time. He said the 790 remotes are notorious for going bad. He said He even thinks DEI had a recall on them. I know this much, just a few months after releasing the 790, viper discontinued it and replaced it with the 791. What does that tell you?

It just seems weird that it happened right after my car went dead

not really... a power spike would easily account for a problem like that... the reciever is in the antenna unit itself... so try unplugging it both from the brain and from the antenna and see if it will reset... also pull all the fuses from the unit and leave it powered down for about 15 minutes and then put the fuses back in and see what happens...
