I have a '04 Yukon XL Denali in which I would like to install a DVD system with two 10.2 inch widescreen Eiger Vision monitors. I would like to minimize obstruction of the view from the rearview mirror. Therefore, instead of mounting them in tandem, I was hoping to install them adjacent to each other, one just behind the driver seat, the other just behind the front passenger seat, allowing a relatively unobstructed rearview.

There appears to be enough clearance next to the rear airvents to accomplish this. However, there is a slight slope to the roofliner at these off-center locations, probably about 10-15 degrees. The monitors would both be tilted slightly if installed normally. Is it possible to install the monitors so that they are visually level? Will this cause one side of the monitor housing to extend out further than the other, or can this be avoided?

If i were u i would just build a wedge for one side of it to compensate for the angle and cover the wedge with the same material as the roof liner. That way it is less visable and with the wedge in you get a screen that is visually straight.

Why the hell don't you just do headrest monitors?

Because he wants 10.5" screens! Can you fit that in the headrest??

If optional consoles are available for them, you could always cut the consoles to match the slope.

Sure, just have to use alot of foam to make the headrest bigger. But the point of that was why would you want two 10.5 inch screens side by side? It is kinda like having 11 monitors in a extended cab pickup, its pointless, unfortunately I know 2 people who have this.
