I finally got the alarm into a 65 mustang, everything works fine except for the light flash. Only the rear lights flash. My guess is that I may have to diode isoltae each individual front signal using the turn signal wires, then connect it to the parking light flash from the alarm? The front parking lights also double as the turn signals, and I think that is what is causing the problem. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Chris

you might have 2 seperate wires coming off your switch one for the front and one for the rear.......but I don't think that's what you have since your car is older........if you didn't go to the switch for your wire then try going to the switch.......you might have just grabbed your tail light wire coming from the fuse box.

The wire I used had 12volts when the parking/headlight switch was pulled, and was located coming off the fusebox. So I connected the white wire off the alarm there.

Well I pulled the switch assembly out, and tested every single wire, and it turns out that the front two parking/turn signals are independent of the rear lighting. So I take it the best method is to diode isolate the two wires? The only thing I'm not sure is what kind of diode to use. I've never bought them before, and at a radioshack, the only one I found that was 12volt was rated at 21 milliamps. What kind of diodes will I need for this application?

Does the voltage it's rated at matter? because there's like 50v, 200v, and 400v ratings.

1 ampere (1N4001/L)
the car is only 12v, so as close as possible will do
Good Luck
