I tried to buy a  viper 350HV and a 530T window module today and all  the shops I went to said that they couldn't sell it without installing it. Something about a contarct they have with them or something. Does anyone know where I could buy these w/o the install. I live in Los angeles area but am willing to buy it online. Only place I've seen both were "audio allies" or something like that but don't know if it's a trusted site. Someone please direct me where I could find these cause I just got my truck and she's vulnerable :)   Thanks in advance.

Thats a bunch of BS. You should be able to pick both uninstalled. E-mail me if you can't find a vendor.

Most dealers will not sell DEI product without install.
#1 it doesn't have any warranty, and #2 most times customer will expect free tech support from the retailer.

Best Buy will sell it but youll be paying for the "free basic install" labor that is built into the retail price.  its simple margin errosion if a shop has to sell it at a different price because they arent installing it.  so either they dont change it or refuse to sell it.  if you install it your self you wont have a warranty on anything if it fails.  maybe if you are currently MECP, but DEI wont warranty joe schmoe working in his garage.

Compustar will tell you to go to the place that you got it installed.

That's the thing, I don't care for the warranty. So why should DEI. That's what car insurance is for. And if it's the warranty on the install itself, I'm confident in my abilities. So why the hell should DEI be concerned what I do with it after I buy it. Makes no sense to me. Shops would probably make more money with people taking their cars in on half done installs. But on the other hand DEI  could get a bad name but I doubt that's why they don't sell w/o install.

Anyway, still looking for a 350 HV and  a 530T. Email me.

BUMP.
