sorry fellas... the rain really kicked my butt this weekend... yeah know that kinda off and on... sun opens up and spits out death rays... then closes up and rains.... it really got me... i managed to only get resin on the driver side since last time.... it sucked... when i was workin i had just mixed me up a batch of resin and no sooner then i got it all stirred up did it start to sprinkle on me... so i slapped on the goo and shut the door... it really really sucked because my truck now reaks a horrible stank...  hopefully 2morrow is good though and i can get back to it at full swing... but I promise ill get updates up as soon as i get some work done.... cause i saw need sound back in my ride!!!

allright ppl i have a few things to say... "F" spray adhesive!!!! completely screwed me over and set me days back... and second... now that i have gotten going again... id like to say that i hate body work... ha... but thank god for orbital sanders... they are awesome... i would definetly have to say that if i were ever stranded on a deserted island as long as you left me with my sander id be happy... no anyways.. yeah some problems with some spray adhesive set me back a little and then the rain did not help me out at all... it has raind both of these past weekends so i havent been able to get much done.  right now im gettin close to done i think... my driver side door is all bondo'ed glazed and ready for primer but i still have some work on the passenger side... it was affected by the spray more... on top of everything id also like to mention that my psu in my machine went out a couple days back... what luck... well non the less here is a pic of one of my doors as of last night... its comin along... slowly but still...

well we'll see what happens today....

hey. i am new to the fiberglassing also. currently i am fiberglassing my rear deck where my 6x9s go and also my door panels. i also want to do my head liner.  i would also like to do the plastic trim on my dash. but i dont know how i will do it.  i have a 96 accord that im doing this all to.  i am almost done with all the glassing on the rear deck, hoping to do my final sand in the morning.  my plans on the door panels was to strip all the vinyl off them, wrap them in fleece, resin, glass etc.  i am adding 6 by9s to the front doors and 5 1/4s to the rear doors. also i am adding tweeters to the upper part of the front doors. i started an upper panel for a door tonight  all ready had it fleeced.  its going kinda ruff  its not really setting up the way i would like.  the edges are a pain in the butt.  ive read a lot on glassing.  ive read that fiberglass wont stick to plastic.  i did a little test spot on a door panel.  i was able to get  fiberglass to stick to the plastic door panel.(the plastic which is the base of the door, under where all the vinyl goes) so what i might do is just try to glass over the plastic instead.  i think it might work, it will make it cleaner looking also. lets see what happens.   i had a question for you Jmartinez.  How did you go about fiberglassing that part of your dash?
would u like your chicken original or extra crispy?

hey looks like were on the same page... my headliner is next after my doors... and ive started on all my trim pieces to between bondo and paint drying... i want everything to be smooth... i dont want any of that textured plastic crap in my ride... but since you got me started on that... id like to ask a question now also... does anyone else know of a way to remove all the texturing from all plastic... Body filler? call me an idiot but i did start to use body filler and halfway through covering a piece i realized... IM AN IDOT... i forgot to sand.. so i just let it setup long enough so that i could peel it all off... question is though after sanding will the body filler stick to the plastic ok?

as for my dash... after i did all the frame work... i just covered the whole thing in a fleece wraping it around the backside of the outside edges... then i just simply spread the resin over it all... i didnt actually have to use any fiberglass on it... after a real good first coat of resin it all setup pretty hard and i figured since its just a dash and it would be anything really taking any kind of bumps or anything of that nature i just hit again with a real heavy coat of resin and then some filler where it needed it and thats about all she wrote... hasnt fallen apart yet.... thats got to be good.. right?
