I just bought this little gadget called taplock (please see http://www.taplock.com) which unlocks doors with your security taps on the window.. I've installed it and works great but my question is how do I wire it with my factory alarm disarm wire ? because right now it unlocks doors but the factory alarm goes off...

I have 2001 honda odyssey exL which has a factory disarm wire that requirs a -ve pluse.

The wiring for the taplock is as follows:

1. Red wire to a "continuously 'on'" source of + 12 volt fused.

2. Black wire to ground. This may be any metal part of the car frame.
3. Orange wire to the "ignition-on" +12 volt fused connection at the ignition switch.
This wire can be omitted if the Receiver Module (i.e.RED light ) is hidden from view.
4. Blue and RED fused wire to the "uplock" wire for actuating the lock.
5. Blue # 2 wire can either go to Ground or to +12 volt, depending if a Ground Pulse or Negative Pulse needs to be sent to the door uplock solenoid.

I'll appreciate if anyone gives me any suggestions for this to work. Thanks...

You should be able to take whichever wire sends a neg. output when you tap on the car and connect it to the factory alarm disarm wire. You may need to diode isolate it.

SnomanF150, can you be more specific...  do you mean from above taplock wires I take the blue #2 that gies to ground and connect with factory disarm wire along and the ground both.?  I'm not familiar with how to use diode and what type of diode to use and how to use it..

take this wire:Power Unlock GREEN/ RED (-) DASH FUSE/RELAY BLOCK
and put a diode in-line and run a wire from the above wire to this wire:OEM Alarm Disarm BLUE (-) ON EX 3 PIN GRAY CONN. BELOW COLUMN** ** On LX At Drivers Door Multiplex Control Unit In Drivers Door.
when you unlock the doors, it will send the same pulse to the disarm wire......
Good Luck

thanks for all replies... It worked out well... put a diode between factory disarm and taplock wire that goes to door unlock.. works great.
