It's funny you guys bring this topic up.  I was just reading a catalog I got in the mail yesterday and they had some speaker wire that was really expensive like that.  It consisted of two thin, long ribbons of copper, each seperated with an ugly plastic wrapping (think clear MC Hammer pants).  They called it planar wire, or something like that.  I will see about getting a link when I get home.  My favorite though are the little tripod things that raise the speaker wire off the floor.  Apparently the static electricity in the carpet effects the signal going through the wire.  Although why they are moving their speaker wire back and forth across the carpet while listening to music in the first place is beyond me.    Here's another great one: http://www.referenceaudiomods.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NOB_C37_C&Category_Code=VOLUME&Product_Count=2

I think it would be fun to try to sell to those people one of those benies with the propeller on top and tell them that while it is spinning it equalizes the sound pressure on each side of their head, giving a much larger sweet spot for their speaker system.  I could also claim it makes Doppler distortion inaudible, as well any delay in sounds from phase issues  within 3 miliseconds of eachother sound like one event.

While I dont share everyones opinion on monster cables, those wooden knobs are funny as hell. And if the knobs cause micro vibrations, why not just take the knobs off completly and eliminate the source for any vibration? Silly people

Ok, here's that link to those speaker wires: http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/tweaks/omegamikro.php

And here's an overly expensive power cord that is ugly: http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/tweaks/powercord.php

Here's those cable lifts: http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/tweaks/cablelifts.php  Maybe that "dull" sound is the stuff they are listening to and not from induced noises.
