Im glad you found the problem cougar but like Dyohn said , there are better ways to troubleshoot those kinds of problems. If it makes you feel any better...Ive drilled into a break booster trying to run a wire thru the firewall , and drilled a hole into a gas tank mounting stuff down in a trunk. ok , Ive ratted myself enough. You learn as you go. This was many years ago. I know better now.

...the problem could actually be a short to ground....look for any worn insulators or ect
