I am installing a commando auto start and the instructions say in order to bypass the coded key you must locate the 3 wire harness on the ignition. I located the 3wires and cut the yellow wire and measured the risitance between the yellow and the black wire. The security light came on and the car wouldn't start so I waited a wile and it reset. With the yellow wire cut the car starts but the security light stays on. I went through the install bay forum and it said that if I install the correct resistor The theft light will turn off and the car will start. The forum also says tha with changes in tempature the resistor value will change? Let me know if this will work or should I just install a bypass module.Thanks,Jeff.

I strongly recommend a bypass module.
