Aftermarket stuff is the enemy of the car manufactures. Wether it be audio equipment, body kits, engine mods, or Jimbo Joes Auto Shop, if its not done or authorized by the manfacture, its costing them business which means they lose money, and we all know manufactures love nothing on earth BUT money.
As a mechanic and a part time installer I know for a fact that working on anything 2000+ is like pulling teeth out of a warthog. I mean, for gods sake, has anyone ever tried to change the thermostat in a 00+ dodge intrepid? U have to remove the damn left motor mount, alternator and lower radiator hose just to get to it! Gotta love it right? How about the new Mazdas or the new Chevys where u cant install an aftermarket head unit w/o relocating the factory unit because the brain of the car is in the damn radio... WTF is that all about!!!!!! LOL oh well guess its a give and take battel between do it urselfers and do it at the dealers for like ten times as much.
