u shoulda returned it for warranty silly!, , or did you steal it and thats your cover up?2 volt vs. 4 volt - Page 2 -- posted image.  j/k, but seriously, things do fail now and then, ,not everything is junk, unless its failure rate exceedes its working rate

Haha, no I did not steal it. I bought it from Tweeter. And the whole story is I did return it for warranty through tweeter, and they sent me a new one. That one failed too, after two months, so I gave up on the whole deal, and bought an Alpine Receiver...

I agree with Alpine Guy about going with an Eclipse deck instead. Much better quality then Clarion and have excellent features.

Also, it seems to me that Alpine's quality is going down the toilet lately but I may be wrong.

Are you just saying that because they're now selling through Best Buy??? Haha...
In all seriousness, I'm sure he'll be fine with Alpine's upper-end units. Plus, it seems like the Eclipse head unit mentioned ($599?) is much more expensive than the clarion ones mentioned (at $499). The Alpine comes in at $450.

Their head-units seem to still be good but why are the new mono amps for this year half the price of last years models almost??? It seems like thier Type X sub isn't that great either. Somethings got to be wrong if Alpine Guy is now reccomending and using Eclipse in his own system. 2 volt vs. 4 volt - Page 2 -- posted image.

LOL... Good observation suburb, about alpineguy.
But yeah, I would never buy an Alpine amplifier for higher-end systems. There are better companies out there for that. As for the prices, there's some sort of news-release on their site regarding the new 2005 models, using new circuitry and stuff, resulting in lower costs. But I'm sure it's more related to them realizing their Name wont sell amplifiers at that high of a price. I'm sure before you were just paying for ALPINE, not for what was inside...
As for the Type X, I haven't heard it, but from what I've heard, it was a flop too... But again, I wouldn't buy Alpine for its subs, because there are many better companies out there (Although for low-end stuff, their Type R's are AMAZING for the price, But that is a different story)

The alpine head units are still excellent no doubt about that, the look and use are excellent, but since the shop i was working at shut down, i gota move on and i trialed a few eclipse decks and they are to drool over for sq and accuracy , mostly because of the Ei-serv and the 8 volt pre outs. And this year, the features are too hard to pass up.

Psst, guys..... Tweeter did not drop Eclipse, Eclipse dropped Tweeter. Little inside info that we heard on this side of the border. I vote for a Eclipse head unit as well.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
