I was told by a local stereo shop/school that they dropped Eclipse for quality reasons:  They were having too many customers bring in their head unit with little issues, like the face plate not moving to eject a CD, to the HU powering up, but not playing, etc. etc.      It was the shop owner who got annoyed in these cases,  so he reluctantly dropped the line temporarily, until Eclipse gets their Quality Control in order......
Maybe they have by now....  It's been a year since I've stopped by the shop....
But I'm not trying to scare anybody away from Eclipse.  They have amazing sound quality, when the work right,  and nice features (Like ESN).  I'm just throwing  out my own personal experience with the brand, and what I've heard from reputable shops in Boston.

if you guys are shopping @ tweeter your getting ripped off. i bought a pair of boston sl-95 6x9s @woofersetc. for $199. tweeter sold the exact same ones for $299- yeah, ok,but  its free shipping-you do the math. eclipse is out of the question, alpine offers a 1 year warrenty-clarion offers 2 year.

^^^ and what kind of warranty do you think you will receive from Boston if and when those speakers die, my bet is absolutely none. So to save $100.00 on a set of speakers is all great up front but in the end it is most always a double purchase.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I guess I'm the lucky one. I've never had to send anything in for service. I usually don't keep them long enough for them die.

Woofersetc.com isn't an authorized dealer for any of their products so they can't offer you the manufactures warranty....
