Well they have outdone themselves again this year and again won the top award at the CES.  If you want to know how to do just about anything fiberglass to a vehicle, check out the new X5 demo car at http://www.alpine1.com

Having that kind of money doesnt hurt much either. I agree that their projects are just phenomonal, but it just doesnt impress me that they can do that.   When I see someone like us doing that kind of stuff thats what impresses me. Somebody that doesnt have 500 grand to spend on a mini cooper.
Learning the trade one fiberglass creation at a time!

I dont think that they can top their mini cooper. The mini cooper is way better than X5 that they did. IMO.

Im still in love with the civic.  I got to see the Acura RSX in person and sit in it and stuff, seeing it in person is just amazeing, ,trying to look at it it feels like you just ate a bag of mushrooms, ,you simply cannot focus, the art work is way too detailed on top of the very detailed fiberglass work.

Yes the Civic and RSX are also very cool. Ok I guess it is safe to say that Alpine fell off with the X5. You cant make something as pwoerful as the Civic, RSX, or Mini Cooper and then follow it up with the X5. IMO.

The civic was awesome, the mini was cool, and the x5 is boring compared to both the other's (but it is still the only one I would even consider driving). You can only do the same things in different cars so many times. The extravagent fiberglass work gets old, center drive gets old, and vehicles that have no practical application is getting old. Don't get me wrong but Alpine's demo vehicles are getting predictable.
What ever happened to really good installs in a vehicle that you could actually drive? Personally I am getting annoyed with many manufacturer's demo vehicles. I mean mix in some suede, leather, or even vinyl(center channel of the x5 excluded). Paint and full fiberglass vehicles look like crap.
I understand the concept of a demo vehicle. But why can't manufacturer's concentrate on how thier products perform instead of how they look and what kind of install they can do. They make the gear, not install it. I am much more impressed by the cars that sound awesome and appear to be mostly stock looking.

I agree that Alpine's and most other companies demo cars are getting played out. Sure there cool, but like auex said, how many times can you do the same things? There is a local car that is owned by a restaraunt. If I can get a pic of it, I want you guys to see it. It has little to nothing to do with audio, but whoever built this thing is a FG geneus.

I think the vehicles are cool just to show people what is possible if you have an infinite amound of time and money and to inspire people.  Then you can take the ideas and apply whatever time and budget you have to do your own projects.

I wonder if these guys ever take a break from fabricateing?  Like im shure as soon as the mini was done, they took there pictures with it, then the X5 drove in and the process started over again.
