how do you keep the screen on all the time. The screen comes on when you stop, but goes off when you are moving because of the speed scense hook up. Is there any way to over ride this

Not at themoment. This is the new system to deter video playback in the view of  the driver.

Man that sucks....I never have figured out why the companies put the restrictions on there like that one..Wh do they care what people do with them....Put the E-Brake wire in there and let it be.....If someone chooses not to hook it up correctly then the company cant be held liable...They cant twist someones arm and make them follow the law although that is what they seem to be trying to do with the N2....

I see a lot of people not buying that unit for the very reason of losing their choice.....

I really wonder how long it will be till a bypass module is released...

The reason is because if liability. Even if the company take all the precautions to ensure safety while driving & someone learns to bypass it and gets hurt...... they are at fault. You gotta love the judicial system . BTW: It's not only Pioneer that is doing this. It's Alpine as well and soon enough everyone else will follow the big two.

I really dont understand why they are doing this.   The new C6 Corvette doesnt limit its speed to 80mph to help ensure safety.      Some people are always going to be brake laws its a simple fact.

Very well put. Pioneer this year is the first to go to these extremes, but you will see everyone following in line either this year or next. As for the mention of Chevrolet not limiting the speed of the C6, the police can do that for someone who doesn't know right from wrong. It is hard to catch someone driving with a monitor on in the dash. Therefore companies are starting to help cure the problem while protecting themselves, the dealer/installers and the end user. And besides, someone will find away around it. Hell, one of my dealers called me Saturday to tell me they figured it out.

I read an article about how we are just 1 or 2 major accidents away from some serious laws being passed against in vehicle video systems. This is was kind of an eye opener for me. It made me realise that it was for my own saftey. I maybe a safe driver with video in my car but the kid in the lifted Cadillac behind me with the 15" in the dash may not be.

But you are pissed for the wrong reason. You are pissed because it is working the way it is SUPPOSED to. Pioneer never intended for us to watch TV/DVD while we were driving. Pioneer also never intended for the N1 or N2 to be sold as a video system first and a navi second. As a matter of fact, Pioneer considers that unit a Navi catagory peice when it comes to dealers quotas. I personally think any dealer that installs any frontseat video so you can watch while you drive should be out of business. I discourage my dealers from doing it. Now I will be the first to say mine is bypassed, but I did it myself. There is nobody to blame but me. I installed my best friends N1 and refused to bypass anything. I made him do it. Now there is nobody to blame but him. Dealers are out of their minds if they think they can't be sued for bypassing the safety switch if someone gets in an accident. And 5150 said it best. No matter how safe you are that does not mean the next guy is that safe.
