Has anyone heard of this so-called "Service Code" that can be used to ignore the shutdown of the video playback on the N2 while traveling over 10 mph? If so, please advise on how to do this.

Thanks,

Just looking for a way to beat this thing...AVIC N2 - Service Code -- posted image.

I see your "See Sig" alot in this forum, yet never seem to find any advice or useful information from your responses. Is this by design or are you just upset that you, the "Installer", can't figure this one out?

I am looking for a "Service Code" given out by Pioneer that disables the automatic video shutoff. And for your information "See Sig", it is for an RV and is out of the driver's sight. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

jazmill

No I don't feel like getting hit because some idiot was paying attention to their monitor instead of the road. If this is for an RV then kill the salesman for choosing the wrong equipment to install. Why do the people in the back need to have NAV??? There are alot of cheaper flipout monitors that don't have said restrictions on it. There is no way to win this argument.
The whole point to me saying see sig is to dissuade people from making asses of themselves and asking "How to I bypass a SAFETY FEATURE?". Do I have a way around this feature, sure there are a couple. Am I going to tell you, NO. I stopped telling people how to bypass video almost a year ago. Also if there was a "service code" and anyone knew what it was, don't you think it would be everywhere and you would have found it?
So I repeat, MY AVIC HURTS, MY AVIC HURTS!!!!!!!!

Why would pioneer make a safety feature and then hand out a code to bypass it? Auex gives out quite a bit of useful information and I think he gave you some, "kill the salesman for choosing the wrong equipment to install"

Folks, bottom line is there is NO WAY to bypass this feature like there was last year. Is there a way around it, yes if you want to call it that. I agree with Auex that if this is for an RV and it not in the drivers sight then he wasted $2000.00. And if the point becomes navigation, well you still can't use it while drive no matter how you get around the video. So the "navigation" card can never be played in this forum for the N2.

Thanks for your comments 12v. I agree that the bypass for these models are completely different, but you have to KNOW that there is always a way around everything.

The main reason the N2 was purchased by this customer was the fact that it has XM Traffic (Re-routable due to traffic) and it can "TALK" you through the navigation without having to see it. I am not sure of any other product on the market that will do this as of now. The customer only spent $1450 on the N2 as well.

Back to the main question. I do know of a old Pioneer Service Code that could be used to service the Pioneer recievers. I was jsut wondering if there was one for this particular model that disabled the video while driving feature.

Thanks again.

OK, I can confirm there IS a service code for the N2 that will allow you to watch video and use navigation while in motion at any speed. I know this because I have one installed behind the driver’s seat in my Motor Coach. I only wish I could tell you what was done to allow this but unfortunately I bought this N2 already hacked off of eBay for 2100.00. I know this is more than I should have paid, however having the nav functions with XM traffic active while driving and the ability to source video to the plasma screen was well worth the money. I also wanted to point out that whatever was done to my N2 was done right; I have had no problems at all and have used it on several trips. ( bought it 1 month ago, 3400 miles since installed) I agree that watching video and driving is not safe, however I do not believe that it is the manufactures jobs to proactivly try to disable this. I will attempt to get the information from the eBay seller, even if I have to pay him for it just so I can publish to all of you who need this active. I personally do not agree with auex (see above posts) and I believe if he had the knowledge to actually unlock this device he would be using it also, after all what good is a nav unit if you cannot adjust your route while in motion. Can you imagine how much of a pain it would be to stop on the interstate with a 40 foot bus each time you needed to change your route because of traffic or construction? People who try to push their own ignorance on you are not worth listening to anyway; life is too short for idiots. I mean really, is Mabeline going to make it so lipstick won’t work in motion?Or maybe your make it so your coffee cup wont release from the cup holder while you are moving?Or even better how about McDonalds having you sign a waiver saying you will not eat and drive…Think about it, is video on your dash really any more distracting than putting on makeup, drinking hot coffee, eating greasy food, reading, smoking or many of the other activities people do while driving? So while I am sure some uptight staunch better than thou (like auex) will disagree with me, I know many more of you will understand how completely insane it is to think that this one little lockout will stop people.Oh ya BTWI also have an N1 properly hooked up in my F250, I simply added an inexpensive 7’ monitor underneath the AVIC in the dash, now I have both movies AND navigation active at the same time, and I have had it this way for 1 year and well over 100k miles…. No accidents…. Good luck and I will post the solution if I can find it.
