All that stuff is attached after the power is made from the alternator, shure it may be bolted to the outside of the alt, but an alt is an alt on the inside.  Therefor you can indeed upgrade the output capabilitys of the alt.  I would love to see a picture of one of these alts, , i bet its the exact same as any other alt.

Here is a link to Alterstart, and their Protege alternator. This is the 70A direct replacement, but call the number, and see if they have an HO version like the link above says...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i just called alterstart and they can make me a 150a one for $299 so im jumping on this. thanks for the link :)

also i dont think i could run a dual alternator set-up because this alt. is so small and barely fits as it is i dont think a second would fit. i know my alt. is tiny.....

so here is my "big 3" plans...

1)150amp alt.

2)1/0 welding cable for engine ground kit and power from batt. to alt.

3) dual optima battery setup.

what do you guys think? when im finished ill be running 4 rockford fosgate 1000a2 amps, either 4 12s or 4 15s(i wanna go for more then 2 subs for show but i still want it to perform good. and 2 600a2 rockford amps for 2 sets of MB QUART components one set in rear and one set in back to take place of 6x9s...and 8 inchsubwoofers...one in each door panel...this will be for both SQ and SPL but mostly everyday driving.

I can tell you from experience, BEWARE. Alterstart screwed me and I have seen lots of negative stuff on them on this site. I would look around some more.
