Monte Carlo should have the VATS system.  You will need to bypass the system for RS.

Any RS unit should do as long as it has an activation input.

The Carlo is a pretty easy car to do.  Most pros can have it done in about an hour or so.

I would recommend the Autopage RS-615 remote start, but our shop only carried Autopage.

I want to install a rs to my aftermarket alarm in my car. I know I need a DEI 652t or a vats bypass module. But I need to know the resistance on my key. here is where my question come, how do I do that? I am not a professional, but I can follow directions, hahaha. thank you.

On your digital mulitmeter turn it to ohm measurement. A bell looking symbol. Now using the probe touch the little pill on the key on both side you should get a reading.

in your key should be the resistence using a digital multimeter put in ohms and test the key for the right resistence.

Thank you. Also, how accurate does my multimeter has to be? I know some of them are 1.0% 1.2% 5% wich is better? Also in the meter I have different settings for the ohm 200k, 200, which one should I use?

The more accurate the better the result. Set it on 200 first. If you need to go higher on the scale then switch. The K just mean times one thousand. The ohm resistence scale on the VATS if I remember correctly are only between. 200-3000 ohm.

Vats bypass is easily made using a relay and the resistor.

I am installing a valet remote start (561t) in a 96 chevrolet monte carlo ls with an after market car security (clifford matrix 1). I installed this alarm in the car, I am not a pro but I can follow instructions. But I have some questions about the remote start.

In the installation manual for the 561t unit says something about the factory arm and disarm. first question, I should ignore this right? because my car does not have a factory alarm, it has an after market alarm.

It also says something about ignition output to RF system. As an add-on to an after market security system: If connected, disconnect the ignition/accessory of the remote controled security or keyless entry system. Connect the H1/3 yellow ignition output to the ignition/accessory input of the remote controled security system or keyless entry. The wire will prevent the host system from sensing that the ignition is on during remote start opertion. Second question, What ius this? As I am going to my clifford matrix 1 installation manual I do not see any ignition/accessory wire. Am I just not looking for the right wire? or I do not have one or what? super confused in this part.

Also the remote activation input on the valet remote start needs two pulse activation in order to start, but in my alarm the channel three, which is the one that I am using to controll the r/s says that it only provides this type of pulses, validity, latched. latched/reset with ignition, 30-second timed. will this work for the r/s? or do I need to set the r/s feature to one pulse activation?

In the relay key switch interface of the r/s, do I need to hook up this wires before my after market security system relay? or after? do I need diodes?

The neutral safety switch? where do I find this? is there a wire I do not see on the wiring diagram for the remote start wiring of the monte carlo? I have a shifteer in the middle of my car, not a column shifter or manual transsmision. Neutral safety switch interface? I am soooooo confused with this. Please help me.

I need to know how to hook up the vats bypass also, wich wire to hook up to the relay, h2/1 or h2/2?

Thank you.

I have installed a valet 561t on my chevrolet monte carlo 96, everything works great but the ac won't turn on all of the way, no air blowing or cold air blowing, only air from the bottom of the dash. I my vehicles wiring says my car has a second ignition, I did not hook this wire up to anything, could this be what is wrong? My rs has a wire that can be programed for accesory or for ignition, should I hooke this one up to the second ignition inmy car? thank you.

No 2nd IGN wir eon this car but you have a 2nd ACC wire ( PURPLE ) that needs to see 12 volts during remote start. Use this digram and a relay to have the blower motor engage : http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/2nd_accessory_relay.jpg
