ok I saw that when I went to the website but the thing is I am in the navy and I just do installs on the side.  I guy I work with owns his own Audio store down in Jacksonville and I am sure he is not going to give me a tax # thing so how can I go about getting that.  Should I open like my own little bussiness for just installs and custom boxs?  I don't know I never got this indepth into it, Like I said I normally just did things on the side.

You could also buy the Astrochart program, I'm sure. Here's the thing. Things like Directechs cost DEI several thousand a year to maintain and update as part of their tech support structure. For one to have access to it, you need to stock and sell their security products. Plain and simple. Kind of a side benefit. Even buying/subscribing to something like Astrochart (Astroflex's wiring thing, I believe.... has lots of pictures) can be hard to justify, I know, however. It costs them money to develop it, they aren't going to give it away (they're fools if they do, actually. not good business sense). For the average bcakyard DIY type guy, companies like Design Tech or Bulldog Security have web based support for vehicle info that isn't that bad. DEI info tends to be pretty in depth, but it is quite accurate, and is geared towards prople who do this sort of thing for a living (myself included). You do get what you pay for......

Thats pretty awesome, I am interested into getting involved more indepth like when I get out of the navy to open an Audio/secrutiy shop and I guess all the little bit of info I can get counts.  Hey putting in this remote start on this car am I going to need that key thing for the ignition

go to your local shop and buy one if possible.  That way you know it is the correct one and if it isn't you can just go back to the shop and get the correct one.
