IMPORTANT! This product is designed for fuel-injected, automatic transmission vehicles only.

Installing it in a standard transmission vehicle is dangerous and is contrary to its intended use.

Doesn't matter if the park brake is engaged, the car will still lurch forward. Just go and buy a system designed for a manual transmission vehicle

Well this is basically what I did to make a neutral safety switch. Check out the picture
remote start in 5 speed -- posted image.
As you can see in the picture I have placed two springs on either side of the stick shift. Then I wrapped the actual stick with electrical tape and then wrapped a aluminum reflective tape around the electrical tape to isolate it from the metal stick. Now what happens is when the stick is in gear 1, 3 or 5 the back spring doesnt touch the reflecting tape and therefore the ground connection is broken and the car wont start. Now when the stick is in 2nd, 4th or reverse the ground is again broken and the car cant start. You just connect the neutral/parking safety wire from your alarm head unit to one spring and then ground the other spring. As far as materials go I just used some tiny 1/4" brass wood screws to screw into the plastic. Well let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
peace

I think kartuneman is never gonna see the end of these types of posts. Rather than whining, he should just make a post about it, put a link to his thread in his sig, and then everytime he see's a thread with this kind of topic he could just say  "ChEcK My SiG yO"

Kartuneman, you must be one of those old guys who thinks he knows all there is to know, all godshandkiller wanted to know was how to make his remote start system safe, he already has the alarm so changing it is out of the question and no matter what you say he's probably going to fit it anyway so instead of telling him he's an idiot maybe give him a safe way of doing it by either telling him to find the neutral safety switch wire on the computer or as i guided him towards the rope switch sure put across your point of view but don't belittle people the forum is for help not hinderence get off your hi horse!!!!!!

Also why would directed sell the rope switch if it wasn't reliable???

As for godshandkiller good luck with your project just remember your starting your car at your own risk and maybe others around you so starting it in a crowded area is probably not a good idea again good luck
