Damn guys I grew up in Fresno which was once GTA capital of the world. You guys are damn paranoid. All you need is a back up battery. Thats it! The pros will break in and disconnect your battery. Then they can do with your car as you wish. But with a back up battery that is properly installed the theif will have to get under the dash and try to figure out the install. Thats too much to ask of a guy thats trying to make a quick getaway.

my gf lost her remote at a theme park, so having some alarm knowledge, i just popped the hood disconnected the battery, got under the dash and disconnected the alarm module, which i just reached under the dash and moved my hand around to find... then i just connected the battery and we drove off.

if someone really wants your car, they'll take it, no matter what... but if you wanna give the average car theif a hard time.. get a battery back up... interior sirens like the air horn.. thats a good idea.. in addition to the battery back up get a hood lock, which you can get from dei.. incase they prop that open and disconnect your battery you stil have the backup... hide your internal wiring as well as your alarm module and your sirens, make everything as difficult as possible to get to. as far as preventing the theft of your head unit or audio system.. use uncommon screws to fasten them to your vehicle as oppose to the traditional phillips.. maybe even those locks they sell for laptops... i donno. those are just some things to consider..

what i did for mine was this:

relocated the alarm brain(don't just have it hanging in with the ignition harness)

add back up battery

i have 13 sirens on mine(6 outside under the hood, 4 in the rear outside, 2 piezo's inside, and 1 regular 514n inside)

a digital tilt sesor

proximity sensor

remote hood latch(i used a solenoid to pop my hood and bolted the hood release cable to my firewall, this way if they try to break the window and pop the hood they will be in for a suprise!)

all of the wiring for my alarm is the same color wire

2 way paging alarm

and make sure to loom and tape everything so it looks stock as possible

All of these work great as a theft deterent. just remember that it is only a theft deterent. if somebody wants your car, there gonna get it one way or another. all you can do is make it as difficult as ppossible for them to do so. hope this helps with some ideas. happy installing!

LOL.
I just need to throw a rock at your car and come back in 30 seconds when your battery is dead.
