has anyone herd of this bs I have a viper 791xv unit with two remotes that i had posted on ebay for sale and according to dei i am infringing them so ebay took the ad out but then i reposted it ebcause according to them the ad has to contain my own pictures and my own text no loogos etc,,, which i did the first time but dei yet again claimed i was infringing so i called there conseption louis aka legal analyst for dei. and she tells me only authorize dealers can sell this alarm which i wasnt told any of this when i purchased the alarm and what rights does dei have over this alarm when i am the sole property owner of this product that i clearly purchased. so i cant sell it i dont want it cause i have a new alarm being put in from skytek and i cant even resell it back to dei for fractional price what gives i spent over 600 dollars on this alarm that i now cant sell. never herd of such a thing have any of you i think there going to have a class action lawsuit coming down there way

Tell them to go **** themselves. You are selling a used piece of equipment and they have no right to stop you. If you were a retailer then it would be different. Because if you were a retailer trying to sell used shhh then you should be shut down. Also the fact that you labeled your images with a name makes it seem like you are infact some type of business.

first of all, that sounds pretty obsure for them to do so. your tone of words will not work if youre trying to dispute this matter, you seem too hostile to even converse with.
call or email and speak at a professional level so they can understand waht the hell you need. there are a lot of sellers on ebay that sell DEI products and it goes through.

I went through this same ordeal about 9-10 months ago. I had bought an Avantguard 4 off of Ebay, and never got around to installing it. So I put it back up on ebay, only to have DEI cancel my auction. I saw other people selling AG4's, Solaris, etc...so I kept changing things, such as deleting pictures, phrases, etc. Each time, it got cancelled. I finally had my account suspended. I had to go though ebay procedure to get un-suspended.

Afterwards, I started bookmarking and following different DEI/Clifford auctions. Some would get cancelled, some wouldnt. There was no rhyme or reason as to why some weren't, and some were. In the end, I just kind of thought that DEI had a team of Nazi's following up on auctions, and maybe sometimes they slacked off, went on vacation, etc. and they ended up missing some auctions. Who knows. I see the issues regarding warranties, but you would think a standard "Please take it back to your authorized dealer for diagnosis" message would fix those problems.

On a semi-related note, California 49th district congressman Darrell Issa owns DEI, and he is a strong arm crook. That should explain alot about DEI and its tactics.

Well I apologize to some of you if I have offended anyone; I have been professional towards them and EBay. My reflections of my anger posted hear does not reflect on how I carry myself. But what am I to do folks things like this will anger anyone, eBay does not want to get involved but then again there banning me for no reason because I have followed there VERO program rules. DEI has a monopoly on eBay and only want there dealers to sell the products this is clearly wrong and violates your rights as a property owner. I have been calling around different attorneys hoping to end up with a resolution I work very hard for my money I am not as wealthy as some of you. So I take pride on how I spend my money and DEI has clearly robbed me this alarm has cost me with install close to 1g. I wished there was an auction site that didn’t have such a complexity on things.
Oh can an admin please contact me if there’s any way they can assist me with allowing me to sell my item thru here. For some reason the buy and sell section does not allow me to post anything.
Not to discourage anyone but this is a sole reason why I will never ever buy a product associated with Directed Electronics ever again, there customer service skills lack and or if any is non existent there is no technical support except what they tell you please contact your dealer if they messed up the install. Come on enough of this poor business approach strategy.

to play devils advocate here... the reason a lot of you "posters" find DEI's customer service and tech support lacking is that they assume (rightly so) that their products are only being sold to and installed by trained "professional installers" so why would they hire a team of telephone personnel to explain to you how to find your ignition switch harness and what wire goes where....    as is claimed repeatedly in their install guides etc.  the product is only meant to be installed by DEI trained professional installers.... and we dont phone them all the time asking stupid questions......

in my 6 YEARS as a DEI dealer i have only had to call their tech support number once!!   and we are talking about literally thousands of installs.....
