Hi, anyone here using TOYDA (Data Interface Module) bypass kit for remote starter? I just bought the TOYDA (TOYOTA DATA) Data Interface Module VR: 1.4 MD1004. After the installation was fine and it doesn't start with out the key in the barrel. When I was programming, it seem to be fine with the instruction. But it doesn't work. I got 2001 Toyota Sienna XLE. This is the only one problem I got, on the remote start was ok. Thanks for every thing.

PS: on the DataInterface Module bypass kit, there is one green wire it said to "NC". I really don't know what that mean so I leave it alone. I had ask my fiends and they said to ground of security system, but where is it in my van? so I leave it alone. It still programed. Thanks

hi! I'have been using that type of module  make sure you do step by step the installation procedure  and programming   and i know you have to cut two wire from the immobilizer  check  the wire to make sure  you put the right wire to the key side  and the right wire to the ecm (electronic control module) side  + dont worrie with the  NC means not connect.

PS.  sometimes the module that you installe may be defect !

Hi,

So do you know which two wire from the immobilizer have to be cut out? I also din't see the ECM on my van, but I saw the harness was mount on the ignition key cylender which is same color with the instrustion that they provide for instalation, and then it came to a small box about 2" X 1" X 1", is that the ECM or something else, I saw the Key sense was going to that box so i guess that is the security system

Thanks alots

Hi, Can anybody please tell me how to find the Key Sense for Toyota Sienna 2001. I'm guessing the one have two wires close to the key when it insert in to the key cylinder right? one for the ground and the other is key sense right? when I unplug that two wires the engine wasn't start, and try to test that 2 pin, there is one ground and the other is key sense i guess. Am I correct or wasn't. Thanks you for your help

Hard to believe, but DEI doesn't list the keysense wire for that van. I know newer ones are blue/black. I remember there being a 2 pin plug near the key cylinder. Just put the key in the ignition and unplug it to see if the door buzzer stops. If it does you narrowed it down and just need to see which wire of the two looses ground when you remove the key.

Well, I think this two pin harness is one of the Key Sense, because when I unplug it, the engine will not start. But the problem right now is hard to location the security system of the van. As I did mention above about that little box, (2"X1"X1"), cause I saw those two wire from the key(key sense) going to that box. The reason to find the security system are some data wire go in the the by pass and going out to that security system. I had try everything and still doesn't work 2001 Toyota Sienna remote start -- posted image. Thanks for all your help!

pin lay out on toyda

green = no connection

blue = geound when running

ORANGE / black = BROWN / red anti=theft side

orange = BROWN / red key side

PURPLE / white = BROWN / white anti-theft side

purple = BROWN / white key side

yellow/black = key sense(there should be 2 wires , the wire that has NO ground on it, that is the right one)

yellow = BROWN / yellow

red = 12volts

black on black(anti-theft)

Programmation:

Press the program button while inserting the harness connector into the TOYDA module. When the

LED turned ON, release the program button and start the engine with a functional key. When the

LED will flash, press again until the LED turned OFF and the TOYDA module will be programmed. Turn

the engine OFF. The module is now functional.

MAKE SURE THE WIRE COLOR MATCH

my notes say "ECM location below glovebox"

check to see if there is a blue/black at the ignition switch, i just noticed my notes that blu/black can be your key sense output.

but I don't think you need to go to the glovebox.....check the ignition switch area, near the barrel....there has to be a key sense there.
