ported box in a truck?

I want to try to build a ported box for my friend but he has a single cab truck. There is only about 6.5" of depth because he wants to keep the middle seat back up. I was thinking of placing a port on eigther side of the box (It would be a rectangle and not have a slanted back) or making a slot port on the front. Would there be some cancellation if I placed the port on the side of the box instead of on the same side that the woofer is mounted to?

2.03 - Where should I place the port(s)?

If your system calls for the use of ports, these can be placed on any side of the enclosure, once the intended location meets the following requirements:

1. The exit of the port should be at least one port diameter away from any external surface.
2. The entrance of the port should be at least one port diameter away from any internal surface, including the driver.

I would be more worried about airspace. Certified Security Specialist
