He also says "**you want to make your n1 work with the new n2 software but you would like to have it still play movies while driving **". Did he do that for yours to?

He replaced the ribbon cable, stripped gears, motors, and the connections to the removeable faceplate. I have not bought the new 50 series discs yet so I didnt need him to make my N1 work like a N2 without the safety features. Send him an email and he will email you back an estimate.

Thanks,
Andy

Need some help though. I installed the new ribbom cable part and everything went fine but when I install the unit the screen comes out but doesnt flip up it just stays out and wont flip up. I can flip it up by hand rotating the gears and it works fine it just doesnt flip up when install. One of the gears has an arrow on it. Does that arrow have to be at a certain starting position. Any Help ASAP would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had a problem with my N1 where the screen only came out a inch and stop. Found a tiny tear in the flex. Went to order from Pioneer and it has been discontinued. New part number is GXX1257 @ $38.60 +s/h ($12)
