I had an Autopage RS-615 remote starter "professionally" installed in my 2001 Caravan but my installer can't figure out how to have the heat / AC come on when remote started.  He quoted a tech sheet that states, "Accessory is not required for remote start".  There must be another way to connect and he is out of ideas.

He needs to put the proper resistance onto the PURPLE / brown at the key.... this will tell the IPC when to turn on the accessories, drop them during crank, and bring them back up again after crank. 180 ohms, negative, during crank only.

Thanks for the prompt response. I'll pass this along and hope he figures it out.

No luck, that was already done.  I was with him today and he showed me the hook up and we double checked the ohms on the wire that goes from pin 87 to PURPLE / brown, (180.3), and it appears he has everything else hooked up according to the tech sheet.  I just found a similar post from 12/21/05 where thepencil recommended to hook up the green wire from the main RS harness to pin 86, this is after it has been set to the second starter wire with the correct jumper pin on the back of the RS unit.  This was for a prostart ct3300 unit,.  Does anyone know if the Autopage unit has or needs the same thing, or if there is anything else we should look for?

HI!  Well if the ign is hook up right   You should get the heater and AC on  if the system is on   The 180 resistor is  used in the start procedure....

I agree, he's gotta have something wrong. He should have 30 to ground, 87 to the PURPLE / brown thru a 180 resistor, and 86/85 switching during crank.

If your installer hooked up the relay correctly, terminal 86 should go to the starter wire and to the yellow starter wire in the ignition harness. Terminal 85 should go to the remote starter's ground out when running. The ground out when running wire is probably also hooked to the Sentry Key interface to activate it. You must diode islolate the ground out when running to these two different circuits to prevent feedback and problems. Check that he has done this. Terminals 30 and 87 are as Mike M2 described. Another important feature is to not use the battery wire in the ignition harness as this can't properly provide enough current to run your whole remote starter. It is recommended to run a line out to the battery and install an inline fuse close to it. You may also want him to confirm that your van does activate the PURPLE / brown wire only during start when using the KEY. Some vans actually do not require this feature and can cause problems if its hooked up believe it or not. I had one on a 2005 which didn't work until the second starter relay was disconnected. I believe it may have something to do with a dealer service update but I'm not sure of this.

Sparky is right, the relay gets activated by the starter wire, 86 goes to the positive yellow starter wire unless the Autopage has a ground out during crank....
