The relay is activated by the crank wire... ok. Not a problem. Now... the million dollar question.   Did he diode isolate the ground when running's? There will be a slight trickle current passing through the bypass, and off of the start wire. When conbined, it will be enough to pull in the relay. Use a diode on the ground when running on both the bypass and the negative starter.... bands towards the brain.
Sounds like the negative start is coming on as it is running, which will cause the IPC to kill off the accessories. (the IPC is the computer attatched to the fusebox under the hood, BTW)

You all make this a great forum and I appreciate the support.  Unfortunatly my installer isn't interested in listening to advice from a non- installer like myself.  He's supposed to have some freind who would know but he can't get a hold,......blah, blah, blah.  They have until Tuesday to figure it out on their own or they are going to refund me or reimburse me for having someone who knows hook it up properly.

Thanks again for all of the info.

what kind of shop did you take it to that can't do a caravan?  We are authorized Autopage dealers and would have had that 615 in there in about 1-1.5 hours.

The rs-615 units that we had for this winter all had range issues.  We temporarily stopped installing them until the rs-620 came out.  (3-4 weeks or so ago)

When I first started shopping for a RS installer in the South Metro of Minneapolis I got one hit on my google search.  I could have went to Best Buy, but I thought I'd give the local small shop some business.  I can understand not ever doing a car like this, but what frustrates me is this guys lack of effort to get the info he would need to get it right.  I mentioned this forum and even tech support from Autopage.....I thinfk he's given up.  I don't want to mention the business name because I would think they normally do a good job.  I haven't noticed a range issue; not cold enough here to use the RS yet.

It has been 9 days since your original post. If it is not working yet or he hasn't gotten the correct info, I would bail and find a different shop.  Those Caravans are one of the easiest vehicles to do.
