I have 97 Nissan kingcab hardbody. Theres no power windows or anything. All im interested in is a dependable alarm & nothing too fancy. Just to be clear I need something that will make some noise most importantly and possibly show what door is open on the keychain remote. Thx

I've never had any problems with my Panther alarm. Not real expensive either (www.pantheralarm.com).

your question shouldnt be "does a brand name alarm matter?"               it should be "does quality matter?"

A quality alarm when installed right will last you for several years without problem. Most alarm problems are because of installation errors.

Thats the problem, I don't know who makes quality alarms. I dont know anything about alarms except eletrical is usually 90% install 10% equip. That 10 % is what Im researching.

So a quality alarm is a brand name then? Like viper. As long as its installed right.
