WE CRACKED THE PIM FORMAT!
http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38
Myself, ohlarikd, and Jerry have successfuly taken a color image, convirted it to .pim, and saved it on the AVIC-D1. Work's allmost perfect. Jpeg -> pim has a few minor issues.

Awesome dude! Congrats cracking the .PIM  Do you have a motion .PIM solution too?

Gotta go find another retailer for dual layer dvd's. Sprawlmart discontinued them here in Iowa.

Worstbuy has some, but who wants to buy a cakebox of 25 for $50?

Well, something is up with the gray colors, they tend to turn up with slight coloration, making photos look odd.  Still working on understanding how the AVIC handles these things.  We've even seen transparency occur (you can see the Navigation map running behind the AV background).

Those DLs are expensive.  I did worse, about $30 for 10.  Anyway, order them online - much cheaper if you can wait.  Looks like you have your hands full with the N1.  The D1 doesn't seem to have any issue with the bypass and the new 1.2 version.

How is everyone burning there DVD+R for testing. I copy all the files I needed excluding the POI files so I can fit it onto a DVD+R for testing reasons and my avic n1 says it cant read any of the disc I create.
