Hey guys. I'm looking for some help. Im installing a remote start in a 06 vue. I'm having trouble getting a dei 555l to learn the r-code. Also not sure if the wires are connected right. I used the 555l in my 03 ion but traded it in. the vue is not the same system. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

i have the BLACK / YELLOW and yellow wire from 555l to the WHITE/ black, the pink to the yellow from remote start, and the blue/black to the ground while started from remote start. and of course red to 12v and black to ground. i have no idea if it's learning the code.

--The black 555L ground is best connected to the car's Passlock ground wire, not chassis ground, as is stated in the manual. But it should still work with chassis ground, at least for a little while.
--You didn't mention what kind of remote starter you have; what is the yellow wire? The pink of the 555L should be hooked up to ignition.
--As far as I can remember, there is no connection to any sort of WHITE/ black wire in the car.
The correct Passlock resistance wire is yellow, and the Passlock ground is ORANGE / black or black.
The three Passlock wires are taped together, just to the right of the keyswitch, higher-up from the regular ignition wires. They then run into a 5/8" thick plastic-gray-tubing harness.

Just so you guys know, saturn has had a problem w/ their newer cars (some gm's too) w/ 555l's. Their R-code is outside of the learning range of the 555l units.
You can try the newer 456/457g. but that may still not work.
They have a fix for it but i can't sign on right now to show you.

this the one bazz?

"Vue and L series vehicles have a strange wave form pattern on their PL systems. On an O scope it looks like a roller coaster ride. If you try and flat line it like all other PL2 systems it will kick the security light on. When the signal becomes too radical, the 555L can't keep up and on comes the security light. No simple solution, and only something like 1 out of 20 or so will have this problem.

Various solutions out there, none work 100%"

thanks for the kelp guys. i realized there was a second harness. i was used to my ion and thought they were all in the same plug. although i'm still having problems. i finally found the correct wires but still no-go. with the 555L connected the security light comes when started with the key and then stalls. I'm thinking i have a bad module. any suggestions on the best module and where i can get it.

Describe where each of the wires 555L's wires are connected to Saturn----we will try to verify that you haven't made a mistake.
The Passlock II system is quite different from what was in your Ion; maybe you did something different.

Black to passkey ref ground. Red to 12v constant. Yellow to key side Yellow(car). Yellow/black to BCM Yellow. Pink to remote start ignition. Blue/orange to remote start (-)while running. i believe that's it. i'm not looking at it.
