Another vote for the Kinetic or Exide Orbital battery, down with the Optima. (I've burned out 4 of them).
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Kinetic is twice that battery for what I've seen and installed. Check out the cap killers  too.

i have used both the orbital and the yellow top.

i like the yellow top better.

if u have an ADVANCED AUTO PARTS near u the yellow top is only $149.99.

u can also find them in AUTOZONE and Pep Boys for $160

and in sears for about $170-$180.

sorry but i never used stinger.

For a single 5-channel, I'm not really sure if the differences between the batteries will really be particularly evident...
I imagine the Optima, as the cheaper battery, would prolly be far and away your best, easiest option.. nevermind minor difficulties you've already encountered in locating a high-current replacement battery for a car of that age..

Yeah, I decided to just get the Yellow Top Optima because its readily available and then I am not really building a competition system. Just using one 5 channel Directed Audio 450D5 amp to run everything. This amp is not insanely powerful, it makes a good clean, moderate system. So I guess I will be just fine with the Optima Yellow with the vehicle shut off and the music playing (like 50% Volume mostly)...

Yea like you say that amp is *not* insanely powerful; the Optima is, even if not compared to other, more esoteric car batteries.
I've had my Yellow Top in for pushing 18 months now, and it has never dropped below 12v, ever.. and I have a stock 80-amp alt and *three* amps.
Good choice sir, good choice.
