I want to get 4 10" subs.  I want ones that are pretty efficient, but good sound quality.  If I could keep all 4 under 500 bucks total that would be nice too.  What would you reccomend.  Remember SQ is what I am really striving for here, and I am sure with 4 10's the spl will be up there pretty good too.

The best I could find was four of THESE or four of THESE.  You might want to change the SVC to DVC, but I don't know how you want to wire them.
That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

If I get the dvc version of whatever I choose I can run it down to a 2 ohm mono amp and it will probably sound a little tighter than svc's at 1 ohm.  I completely forgot about Image Dynamics... those look really nice.  I like the .3-.6 cube box idea.  I figure about half a cube for each one and I can make all four fit really nicely.  Thanks for the suggestions arrow!  Anyone else got some ideas?

I like the MTX stuff but the RT series isnt in the same league as the other two listed above. I would actually suggest the Infinity over the ID stuff. The ID is nice but I just think the Infinity is that much better, and for sq they are gonna work out nicley

No harm no foul, but the dude did say he wanted sq over spl (interesting statement for a guy who wants 4 10's) but either way if thats what he wants then the infinity or the ID is a better choice over MTX anything as they are geared towards being loud first and sq second. Like I said, I like the MTX stuff and am building my system with almost every piece being MTX but I dont think its the right sub for this cat.

SQ isn't geared towards speakers other than woofers.  It's the whole thing.  The subs are just as important as the components and other speakers.  A crappy sub makes for a crappy system.

However a low end sub in a well built enclosure can make up for some of the short commings

i would go with 4 jl 10w1v2. They are great sounding subs and retail for about 110 a piece. So you could go to an authorized dealer and get a full warrenty and still stay under that $500 limit.
