I'm looking for a good sounding, 10" for my truck. I just would like to know what is a good brand name to look for? I would like to stay as low as possible on the spending. I just want something with good bass.

So what is your flavor? What do you think?

MTX, JL Audio, Alpine, or Infinity are all good to me. Im sure there are more but these are the ones I like. Personally, in trucks I recommend MTX Road Thunder series. You can get them on www.partsexpress.com for around $50 and they sound great. a MTX RT10 in a small sealed box with about 250watts RMS will give you very tight accurate bass on a low budget.

personally the name pile speaks for it's self...hehe I would suggest staying away from Memphis 10's in your truck if your going for a very small enclosure. I have the PR104D that I bought for the truck. They sat in a small under the rear box and when I pulled em out for the bug and used correct volume they sounded SOOOOO much better. They sounded sub par in the truck. Could be alot more to it but I just didn't find them to be good for truck use.

What about Boss ? I found these on ebay. For that amount they can't be all that good or can they?

Link didn't work....

Link doesn't work cuz you can't post ebay links here. lol
Forum rules.
Boss is cheap and Pyle is a pile of doodie.
Exactly how much are you looking to spend on a 10" sub?
Then we'll give you some more specific suggestions.
Just asking what to look for in brand name isn't much...many low end subs from high end companys don't sound as good as you would think but enclosure is a big factor.

If you are going to order Pyle or Boss, you might as well just go to you local walmart or kmart and buy whatever they sell. They are probably about the same quality. Im telling you, the mtx rt10 is probably the cheapest you want to go.

If it's in a blazer and you can make a box the right cubes then Memphis are pretty damn good and won't hurt your pocket book.
15-PR104D
This is what I have in my bug and it bumps pretty good. If it wasn't for me wanting to go all MTX I would keep these and put more power to em.
