Where I come from, you'd be hard pressed to get subs that have been proven in SPL for under $200. But then again, I know some clowns that have gone to Wal-Mart and bought a pair of 12'' Roadmasters, and sworn that they have an spl system.

I saw a Chevy LUV hit a 164.XXX with 2 RE 15s. They said he is 3rd in the nation in USSAC.

You can find a pair of JL Audio 12W3s for $200 now. Still get a kick out of them.

I work for Scott Owens... I'm on the sales side of the shop - in Gilbert, Arizona.  I've been busy with the new semester at ASU so I haven't replied recently.  I do have some pictures that can be seen at www.myspace.com/edgeaudio The pictures of the truck (only the F-250) are under "view my pics"  Also see www.teamedgeaudio.com

I assure you guys I work for him and I work with Kyle too.  I'm trying to avocate for the speakers that I believe are the loudest beasts on the earth.  I did get one of the 12's for my lady's car with two of the 3000SPL amps to push it.  Oh yes, and two Kinetik HC 1400s for reserve power.  Needless to say she's going to have the loudest car driven by a young female on this side of town.

Anybody remember the M&M Rose 15's? Those things were pretty loud... No SQ to speak of, but then, they WERE an SPL woofer, as was pretty much everything from M&M.
When I was installing (MANY moons ago), I dumped a pair of them in the back end of an Acura Integra, in a BIG @$$ vented box, with a Linear Power 5002 bridged to each one. That was CRAZY loud.
Around the same era, the old school Atomic 15, believe it or not. Again, loud, with no sound quality.
Oh, sure, they'd get spanked today, I was just waxing nostalgic.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
