Yes but only if you use the antenna of the 160xvl on the 5900.

If you're planning to use the Venom sst tx as a companion to the existing 7701 then forget it. One is ASK the other is FSK.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

The range is good when you're in an open area, but the range is very poor when you're inside a building that has thick walls.  What I usually do when I'm in school where there are windows is stand right next to one and try paging my car.  However, when I'm inside the mall even though I'm only less than a quarter mile away from my car, 5900 sst can't communicate with the main module.

Yes, same here. When im in school its good 1000 feet from one side of the parking lot to the other but if I park less than 500 feet away and am in the building.. no signal. I even tested it by blocks....i walked down about 5 regular blocks and it works but as soon as walk to the side towards any house the signal dies. I guess this one mile was not tested by dei in the urban areas

I have a few questions. I am new to this so I apologize in advanced is they are dumb questions. I understand most of the features however there are two that I could use help with

1. Short-run/turbo….how does this differ from Valet take-over? I am assuming that short-run/turbo will turn off at some point and Valet take-over will keep running?

2. Timer mode – I am having a problem getting my arms around this one and I what circumstance I would use this feature.
3. Where can I get my hands on the “installation” instruction?
4. I assume there is a tool for programming some of the additional options…where can I get one?
5. I live in the NE…is there a recommended pause time setting for diesels? Currently I am set at 15 sec

Viper 5900 and 791 has the features except for the one mile range.

The install guide is the same.
Download the 791 install guide here: https://www.the12volt.com/uploads/files/791XV%20IM.pdf and all you questions are answered there.
