Fixed the problem. The installer accidently pulled the ignition plug loose from the column and the truck died. When restarted the warning came on.  A tech from a body shop said he replaced the steering column in a 2006 2500 and the same thing happened, he said to drive the truck at least 15 miles and it would clear its self. Sure enough it did. Thanks guys for all the info. Wouldnt know what to do without this site!
