Hi,

I was asking the legendary question...

Is a 12" can be as fast as a 10" ?

I found that the speed of a subwoofer is determined by its inductance, but i found a 15" has more inductance than a 10", I supose that 15" isn't faster ??

What kind of subwoofer should I look for, I listen to mainly techno, but hiphop-rock too... I'd like between 400 et 500 wrms...

typically, a 10" will not be as deep as a 12", but it will be more precise. For the music you listen to, I would look for a DVC 10".

well thats what I think... but Forbidden told me i should go with a 12" !

and why a DVC instead of a SVC ?

Do a search on this thread. It has been discussed before. With identical drive motors there is no "speed" differance between 10" and 12" subwoofers.

There is no such thing as free installation!

well i figured that with identical drive motors.

Then your previous post didn't make any sense.

Simply put, a 15" can be just as fast and clear as a 10". It is a myth that 10"s are fast and 15"s are slow.

well..as for the speed of a woofer....isn't that the same thing as asking what's heavyer, a pund or bricks or a pound of feathers? the sub will see a signal from the amp that change's into the frequency (40 HZ for example) seems to me that the 40hz is how fast the sub is going to move from where it started to it's peak cone movement and back to start again in (40 times per second for 40hz) 1 second...is it not? so looking at it that way, if you have a 10" sub and a 12" sub playing 40 hz then both cones are moving in and out 40 times in a second and there for both cones would be moving at the same speed...the only difference would be how each subs able to play that 40 hz, a 12" will play it better then the 10" just because the larger the sub the better the subs able to play lower bass notes.
