I installing a compustar starter alarm in a 06 Express and am using a 556LW module. The van cranks and then immediatly shuts down with the security light flashing.I'm not sure what to try next, I've confirmed connections for the module, checked for a ground signal on the status input while cranking, LED's indicate that it has learned the code, resistance sense wires are correct. One thing I am assuming is that this is Passlock 2 not Passlock 1.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes it is a Passlock II system.  Recheck your connections verifying the Passlock II setup.

i belieive that truck is actually passlock 3 , look at your key at the blade does it say pk3  on the blde if it does than u have an imobilizer key and that means you'll need an extra key and a imobilizer bypass module ,a lot of chevys and gm's are coming with chipped keys not too many with passlock lately

Thanks for the replies guys.I think I may have found the trouble...When I cut the wire for the keysense, the truck will still start. I must have the wrong wire. Am using the diagram for a 05, It says the lt. green wire at the harness. There is 2 lt. green wires and the truck starts with both of them cut.Does anybody know which wire is the keysense on a 2006?
Thanks,
Brad

Aother easy way to see the problem is to totally take off the colum cover, techsoft cant always be correct these cars arent all the same and that would reveil the wires right to there source.

The passlock wire colors for that van should be yellow and tan. You should not need keysense for the 556lw to work.

I'm not sure what you mean by not needing keysense. The installation instructions clearly show the keysense wire interupted.
Anyway, I took the column shroud off and discovered 3 wires,... yellow, tan and red with white stripe. Any ideas which one puts out the resistance value I need?
Thanks,
Brad

Sorry I must be using the wrong terminology, I mean the wire providing resistance info from the passlock.
I'll try the yellow, thanks.
