I just had a Viper 350HV Car Alarm installed on my 1995 Tahoe by the most reputable company in my town. After installation was finished, the alarm works fine, but when you turn on the headlights a door ajar buzzer sounds, unless you totally deluminate the instrument cluster then it turns off, Also the speedometer will not work and the voltage meter on the instrument display will not work. Everything else is fine, the door locks, the windows, the oil pressure, gas, and temp gauges all work and the rpm gauge works. Does anybody have any idea what might be the problem, I am taking it back tomorrow morning, I would just like to have an idea as to what they might have done wrong so I could possibly let them know to assist them in correcting the problem.

Sounds like somehow the parking lights are feeding back to the door trigger, so when you turn on the lights, the vehicle thinks the door is open. Not sure how, but it's a good place to start.

the speedo and tach will be most likly a blown fuse or they ran the tach wire to the instument cluster and it came unplugged. it sound to me like they have the dome supervision hooked to the headlight switch, wrong wire.

i good shop will try everything out and check everything before he pulls it out of the install bay. dont u worry about it that is what he is for, just let him know whats srong and they should fix...

I took it back, and they fixed it, They had a blown fuse to the gauges, one more question though, now my airbag light came on when I was driving and won't shut off. Any ideas? It isn't a blown fuse, I looked.

Disconnect the negative terminal at the battery. The PCM in older GM vehicles can be reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
If the Airbag light comes back on, then you have a problem and need to go to a GM dealer and find out why the light is coming on.
